About the event

The Daniel Boone Homestead is excited to host the Berks County Amateur Astronomical Society for their Star Party on Friday, May 26. The Society will provide viewing opportunities with their telescopes for approximately two hours and offer educational talks throughout the evening.

The Party will begin at sunset, approximately 8:20pm, and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the “light show” of the sunset as the club sets up their telescopes. During this time, the Society will talk about light pollution, contrast, and some sky mechanics. As the Sun sets, visitors will be able to see a first-quarter crescent of the Moon reflecting sunlight back! Below the Moon on this date, Venus will be very bright, and Mars may be visible. In the hour following sunset, the Society will start focusing their telescopes on star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. May 26 is between meteor showers, but there's always a chance of catching a shooting star...

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see SPACE!

More details will be coming soon on where to meet and where to park.
