About the Event
Holidays at the Homestead! For many families in the 18th century, Christmas was a time for celebration, feasting, and frivolity. Join us Saturday, December 11th from 11:00-4:00, and experience Christmas as it was almost 300 years ago. Take a tour through the seasonally decorated Boone House and learn how the different families who lived there celebrated Christmas in their own special way. Enjoy holiday caroling and the delightful aroma of a Christmas meal cooking on the hearth. Visit with the Belsnickle from 1:00-3:00 and find out if you've been good this year! Make a paper Christmas ornament while enjoying a piping hot cup of cider. This program is offered free to the public. Don’t miss this chance to slow down and enjoy Christmas Past as it was in the 18th and early 19th centuries!
